Roblox DevEx Guide — Earning, Fees and Cashing Out

How creators actually get paid on Roblox: Robux economics, the DevEx program, and what 100,000 Robux is really worth.

The two-currency reality

Everything a Roblox creator earns arrives as Robux, an in-platform currency. Real money only enters through the Developer Exchange (DevEx), which converts earned Robux at a rate Roblox controls — historically around $0.0035 per Robux, meaning 100,000 earned Robux is roughly $350. That gap between what players pay for Robux and what creators receive for selling it back is the platform's business model, and pricing decisions should be made with it in view.

Earning Robux that actually cashes out

Only Robux earned from your creations (gamepasses, developer products, engagement-based payouts, marketplace item sales) qualify for DevEx — Robux you bought or traded don't count toward it. Group-held earnings can be distributed to group members who individually meet the cash-out requirements, which is how studios pay contributors.

Discipline before the payout

Because the rate is variable and the minimum balance is meaningful, experienced creators treat Robux as inventory: price gamepasses with the 70% rule, watch the fee-adjusted return per item with our calculator, and only plan withdrawals when the balance clears the minimum comfortably. Chasing the payout number by overpricing items usually costs more in lost sales than it gains per sale.

FAQ

How much is 100,000 Robux in dollars?

At the long-standing DevEx rate of about $0.0035 per Robux, roughly $350 — always confirm the current published rate, as Roblox adjusts it over time.

Do Premium members earn more?

Premium adds a monthly Robux stipend and enables marketplace resale features, which can raise your effective earnings, but it doesn't change the DevEx rate itself.
